THROWBACK TUNES

 

Two underrated artists Amerie and Teedra Moses have produced countless tunes which I can vibe to. It's a shame they aren't bigger than what they are at the moment. Amerie has released 5 albums but besides this I still don't think people realise how good she is. 

Teedra Moses' story is quite unfortunate, she released her 1st album 'Complex Simplicity' back in 2006 < one of my fav albums ever but her record label went into administration. After that, she released a few mixtapes and still did a concert in London which was EPIC.

EVENT: THE 5th ANNUAL DKMS GALA

THE ROYAL WEDDING: KATE & WILLIAM

As you will know, the royal wedding of Kate & William took play yesterday. If your from the UK you will know its been the hot topic for a good 6 months. Finally the big day arrived and seen as we got an extra bank holiday out of it, I rolled over at 10am to flick on the tv and watch it. 

The build up to the ceremony was AMAZING. The crowd were out in force. All you could see is white, red, and blue. Kinda wish I went up there now to witness the historical event.

The Queen rolled up in yellow. I shall refrain from making any further comments on her outfit.

Kate's sis, Pippa Middleton looked stunning.

And then Kate finally arrived wearing Sarah Burton for Alexander Mcqueen. Im not a big fan of lace but the dress was very elegant and Kate looks beautiful.

Vows were exchanged and the couple made their way to the palace to take photos and then do come out on the balcony for their first public 'kiss'. Here are some of the official photos that were released today:

Overall, the wedding was amazing and i wish Will and Kate all the best with their marriage.

NEW VIDEO: BEYONCE - LET'S MOVE

Beyonce teamed up with First Lady Michelle Obama and her 'Let's move' campaign to help kids become healthier and promote better living habits. Beyonce used her 'Get me Bodied' track and remixed it to fit the campaign. I can see myself getting down to this.

VIDEO: RYAN LESLIE - GLORY

Anyway, Ryan new album 'Les Is More' is set to be released in a few months! He has released the video for his single 'Glory' which will be on the album. I actually like the track, probably not something I would pump through my headphones everyday. Here's the vid:

MUSIC: CRYSTAL FIGHTERS

So I was up to my usual late night antics on wednesday night, frathing around even though I had to be up early for work in the morning -___-. I decided to watch 'Abbey Road Studios' on Channel 4 and came across a band called 'Crystal Fighters'. Hadn't heard of them before but instantly loved their music. I found myself prancing around me room when they played 'Follow' live in the background. Defo the kinda music you'd want to get down to at a festival with a stella in one hand and a fag in another.

Crystal Fighters formed in 2007 in Spain. They can be described as an indie/electronica band and use a variety of instruments to get their unique sound. They released their first album 'Star of Love' on their own record label 'Zirkulo'. I suggest you all give it a listen and see what you think.

One of my fav songs of theirs is 'Champion': 

I know this type of music doesn't tickle everyone's fancy but hey give em a try. They may just grow on you.

HAIR TREND: BRAIDZZZZZZZZZ

Remember my post last month about Braids making a comeback (if not, look in the archive for it). EVERYONE has now got them. From Brandy > Ciara > Solange and now Chrisette Michelle. Seen a few london chicas rocking em too *thumbs up*. I really wanna do braids but knowing the type of hair that I have, it will only last 2 weeks max -_-

COACHELLA FESTIVAL GOSSIP: KANYE WEST THROWING SHADE AT EX AMBER ROSE!

 
Can someone say PALAVA!! We all know Kanye West dated Amber Rose for about 2 years. Noone's sure of the reason they broke up but we got a hint of what happened in 'Blame Game' which is on Kanye's latest album 'My beautiful dark twisted fantasy' (EPIC album I must say). Anyway out of the blue, she started dating Wiz Khalifa a couple months ago and they both seem to be smitten with each other.

I posted about Kanye West being the headlining act at Coachella Festival earlier this week. Well....here' the deal, Yeezy (Kanye for those that don't know) decided to change some of his lyrics whilst performing 'Stronger'. Instead of spraying the original lyrics 'I’d do anything for a blonde dike, and she’ll do anything if the time’s right'. He said 'I did anything for that blonde dike. And she did anything when the time’s right.', firing shots at Amber! Now it actually may have innocently be talking about someone else or it may not have meant anything. But knowing how Kanye West is, it was most likely a shot fired at Amber.

Well....Wiz Khalifa who is now dating Amber Rose, was not too happy about it and decided to set the record straight once and for all. Apparently, a 'shoving' match when down between each of their entourages. I dont't think any of the artist's exchanged blows between each other.

In some respects I see why Wiz Khalifa wanted to confront Kanye for badmouthing his woman. But im always going to be #TeamKanyeWest.

What are your thoughts on this situ. Is it right to start fighting over your gf if someone started firing shots at them? Was Kanye West right for what he said? Did Wiz Khalifa need to confront Kanye over it.

VIDEO: KEYSHIA COLE - TAKE ME AWAY

'Take me away' is off her 'Calling all hearts album'. Im a BIG fan of Keyshia Cole and thoroughly enjoyed her last 3 albums but i can't lie 'Calling all hearts' was a major disappointment. The album was short and there's something missing. Anyway 'Take me away' was one of the alright tracks on the album that i could kinda vibe to. She's just released the video. Take a look.

Hopefully her 5th album will be better and we'll see the real Keyshia back.

NEW MUSIC: ESTELLE FT RICK ROSS - BREAK MY HEART

I think it's safe to safe to say Estelle is back. She's been quiet on the music side of thngs for quite some time but she's always at events, celebs parties etc. Anyway, 'Break my heart' is her official single off her new album. Im quite excited to hear this new album, hopefully it will be as good or even better as the last one.

EVENT: COACHELLA FESTIVAL 2011

The famous event is currently taking place in Cali, USA over 3 days! (Wish I was there). The line up is EPIC, with the likes of Erykah Badu, Kings of Leon, Magnetic Man, Odd Future, The Chemical Bros, Raphael Saadiq, Wiz Khalifa, Kanye West............basically the creme de la creme will be performing there. Any celebs who are not performing there will most likely make an appearance.
