ALBUM REVIEW: TALIB KWELI - GUTTER RAINBOWS

Gutter Rainbows is Talib Kweli's 4th solo album and what an album it is. For the album is just solid. <3 it! There are obviously some songs that stand out for me like 'How You Love Me' and 'Wait for me'. Of course 'Gutter Rainbows' gets a shout as well.
Even the intro 'After the Rain' I find myself grooving out to it. Also loving 'Mr International', and 'I aint waiting'.
Nice to see a feature from Jean McGrae on there too. 



Anyway, I hope you have booked your tickets for the Blackstar concert ft Talib Kweli, Mos Def, De La Soul and Rakim! You CANNOT miss this.

ALBUM REVIEW: MARSHA AMBROSIUS - LATE NIGHTS EARLY MORNINGS

I was ecstatic when I heard Marsha was launching her solo career and releasing a debut album. I LOVED Floetry and was very sad when they split. Their music was A++++! Floetic, and Flo'Ology and the live album Floacism all got played on repeat. 

So I took some time to listen to her album and i was blown away! I didn't need to skip one track. Marsha's vocals were soothing, full of emotion. It's very rare to listen to an album where you can fully enjoy every song.

It's hard to pick what my favourite songs are because every song is truly fab. However, if I had to choose it would be 'With You' - this song is too breathtaking. I also love 'Far Away' and 'Late nights early mornings'. 


I suggest you buy her album asappppp! :)

FASHION TREND: TURBAN MI CRAZZYYY!

Turbans have been a fashion trend for quite some time now, but guess what? It looks like their here to stick around for another summer. ^_^ Turbans can be worn to style up a drab outfit or simply hide the fact that your having a bad hair day (I have done this).

If you haven't yet purchased any turbans then i suggest you do not buy them in the high street stores (too expensive). Get yours from your local hair shop and if you have no luck there then I suggest you go to ebay and get bidding!! Cheap as chips i tell ya! Now if you are looking to do a headwrap and don't know how to wrap it, please go on youtube and watch a couple tutorials. Easy Peasy! Here's the video i learn how to do a headwrap from:

What I love is that there are sooo many different ways to do it. Ive kept it pretty much simple with mine.

SATURDAY SHOUTOUT: DJ KITTY AMOR

On a 12th March 1990, a star was born! DJ Kitty Amor is a female deejay specialising in soulful house but I seen her fling some deep techy down in her time! She has been deejaying for nearly 2 years now and wooow the progression has been phenomenal. She's now part of the 'Female DJ Takeover' event and should be one of the headlining acts. (Ill let you guys know more info about this event in due course). It doesn't just end there. DJ Kitty Amor is also part of the 'PDT entertainment team' who are well know for holding some of the best uni raves ever e.g. 'Ice Scream Factory'.


Kitty isn't just a talented deejay she is also my best friend and sister from another mother. Come sept 2011, Ill have known her 10 yrs! 10 yrs you know. Not once has she changed. Always the super cool cat with jokes for days. Love her to bitz.




Happy 21st birthday Cat! Love you like your mum's rice and stew (ay cat's mum can COOK)

WE LOVE THE JERSEY SHORE BITCH!

'Get crazy, get wild, let's party, get loud, if you wanna have fun then do something' *fist pumps*

ITS TEEEEE SHHHIIIIRRRTTTT TIIIIMMMMMEEEE.

AHHHHHH I am a Jersey Shore Stan to the fullest! I only started watching it after Season 1 had aired. My friend Ije had told me about it and I thought 'mmm lemme give it a try'. From the 1st episode I was HOOKED! I watch the whole on Season 1 that week.
For any guys who do not know about the Jersey Shore, its based on 4 girls and 4 guys living together by the Jersey Shore and all their escapades. The way ive explained it you would think its just regular program. AY watch it you'll be hooked to that programme like me.

The original cast members of the Jersey Shore are:

Snookie - Love this chic
Mike aka The Situation - Disliked him at firat but you gotta love him
Pauly D - *love eyes*
Vinny - Cool dude
JWOW - hotness
Angelina - Bitch
Sammie - .........
Ron - ..........

My fav cast members are Snookie and Pauly D by far but i generally love them all. I wont spoil it for anyone who hasn't watched it but if you are not on Season 3 yet........hurry up.

Thanks to Jersey Shore, Grenades, landmines, guido, guidettes, DTF are all part of my vocab/have different meanings to them than before.

Season 2 showed the Jersey Shore cast in Miami....good season but had one main focus to it. The fight scene was hilarious and overall it was pretty dead compared to the Season 1 and 3.

Season 3 ay.....from episode 1 there was full blown DRAMA. WATCH IT!

Anyway i think they are now showing the Jersey Shore season 3 on MTV so check it out. For all those who are new to the programme go on http://www.tv-dome.net/ and watch Season 1-3.

A PRAYER FOR THE WORLD

At 8.00am I was alerted to about the earthquake and subsequent tsunami which occurred in Japan today. I was quite disturbed by indivduals on twitter who showed no remorse for what was happening and even joked about it.


Over the past few years we natural disasters have become more and more frequent. However, we are only 3 months into 2011, and have seen more choas and tragedy than any other year. Riots to overthrow presidents/dictators in Tunisia, Eygpt and most recently Libya, Earthquakes in New Zealand and now Japan, Floods in Australia and Brazil and the list goes on. All of this has happened in 3 months. We are only a quarter into the 2011 and so much disaster has occured. Not to mention the earthquake in Haiti last year, Hurricane Katrina and the tsunami which devasted Indonesia a few years back. I am asking of you to pray for not only the people who have been affected by these tragedies but for everyone.


We do not know when we are going to leave this earth. Live life to the fullest and cherish those around you.
